TRAINING PROGRAMMES
THEY’RE JUST TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING…
Training is about so much more than teaching commands.
It's about understanding why your dog behaves the way they do, what they are trying to tell you, building their confidence and giving them the skills to thrive in everyday life.
With patient, personalised support, together we turn everyday challenges into progress and training into something both you and your dog genuinely enjoy.
-
Every dog starts from a different place. Whether you've got a young puppy learning the basics, a dog who needs a little extra guidance or one facing more complex challenges, there's a programme designed to meet them where they are. If you're unsure, simply get in touch and Lyla will happily point you in the right direction.
-
Absolutely. Training isn't just for dogs with behavioural challenges. It's about building confidence, strengthening communication and helping dogs develop the skills they need to enjoy everyday life. Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference.
-
Training is built around positive, reward-based techniques that encourage learning through trust, consistency and clear communication. Every session is tailored to the individual dog, because what works brilliantly for one may not be the right approach for another.
-
Of course. Nervous or anxious dogs often need understanding before anything else. Sessions move at a pace that's comfortable for the dog, focusing on building confidence first and allowing progress to happen naturally.
-
Yes - because training doesn't stop when the session ends. Every programme is designed to give owners the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to continue building on that progress at home.
-
Every dog learns differently, so there's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some dogs make noticeable progress within the first few sessions, while others need more time to build confidence and new habits. The focus is always on lasting progress rather than quick fixes.
-
Training takes place in real-life environments where dogs naturally learn and experience the world. Depending on the programme and your dog's needs, sessions may take place at home, out on walks or in carefully chosen locations that help build confidence and practical everyday skills.
-
Definitely. Contrary to the age old saying, you actually can teach an old dog new tricks!!
Dogs never stop learning. Whether they're six months or six years old, positive training can improve confidence, strengthen communication and help overcome unwanted behaviours.
-
Behaviour is communication, and every dog is trying to tell us something. By taking the time to understand what's behind those behaviours, training becomes less about correcting and more about helping dogs feel confident, understood and able to thrive.
THE Process
My dog training process begins by getting to know both the dog and the owner's routine, lifestyle, and goals. I always work with the dog one-to-one first, taking the time to understand their personality, behaviour, and how they learn best. Once I have built that understanding and made progress with the dog, I then bring the owner into the training process.
I teach them everything I have learned about their dog, explaining the techniques and communication methods that work best. By working together as a team, I help owners build a stronger relationship with their dog and give them the confidence to continue the training successfully at home.
In-depth assessment designed to uncover what’s driving your dog’s behaviour and identify the best way forward. The session allows time to discuss your concerns, observe your dog and begin working through practical training techniques together.

A tailored training plan built around your dog, lifestyle and goals
Clear, practical steps to continue at home independently
An optional two-week telephone check-in
The perfect starting point for dogs experiencing anxiety, reactivity, fear, overexcitement or any behaviour that needs a little more understanding.
