We take a patient approach to ensure larger dogs feel safe and comfortable throughout their session.
Ideal for: Dogs who have been turned away from grooming salons because of fear, stress or reactive behaviour.
The Reactive Grooming Rehab service is a specialist service designed to work through the specific issues preventing your dog from being safely and comfortably groomed in a traditional salon environment.
Sessions focus on identifying triggers, building trust and gradually improving your dog’s tolerance of handling, grooming equipment and each stage of the grooming process. The aim is not to rush towards a finished groom, but to create lasting progress at a pace your dog can manage.
Sessions may include:
An individual assessment
Identifying grooming triggers and sensitivities
Calm, low-pressure handling
Gradual exposure to grooming equipment
Confidence-building around bathing, drying, brushing and clipping
Practical strategies to support future salon visits
At the end of the process, you’ll receive a personalised Grooming Support Plan to share with your chosen groomer. This will outline your dog’s known triggers, successful handling techniques, progress made and the approach most likely to help future appointments go smoothly.
Please note that progress is led entirely by the dog. It may take several sessions before bathing, drying or clipping can be introduced.
Owners must provide full details of any previous grooming difficulties, incidents, behavioural concerns or handling sensitivities before booking.
Ideal for: Wire-coated breeds requiring traditional coat maintenance.
Hand stripping is a specialist grooming technique that maintains the correct texture and appearance of certain wire-haired coats.

Gentle handling throughout the process
